In the latest news release from the research team for CMMRF, a new cell type has been discovered that has the potential to grow new blood vessels around dysfunctional blood vessels. This can prove to be life changing for those suffering from Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD), Diabetes, diabetic complications in the eyes, kidney issues, and heart disease.
A simplified description of this discovery could be explained as creating a permanent detour around road construction. So instead of a surgical heart bypass, we could simply create a new set of roads around the blockage. The same can be said about any other blood vessel in the body.
